People from some countries need visa to visit Japan. Information on visa can be found in the following page of the website of MOFA.

To prepare the necessary documents for your visa application, we need some information from you. If you have not done so yet, please fill in the special request form and send it back to Katsuhiko Sano (v-sano + at mark + let.hokudai.ac.jp), with subject line ``visa related'', as soon as possible. We must receive all the information by Friday 14 July 2017, and the sooner the better.

Note that we might request you to send some additional documents if we find it necessary to do so.

As soon as we receive the necessary information, we will arrange for the following necessary documents:

• a letter of guarantee,
• a letter of reason for invitation,
• schedule of stay, and
• an official invitation letter.

Then the documents will be sent to you by post and you should apply with them to the Japanese Embassy or a Japanese Consular Office.

If you are not an author or co-author of an accepted paper, we will send these documents only after you have registered. If you have not registered yet, please register as soon as possible.
